While phone dating has elements in place that often help get good conversations that people should be having when they first start dating out-of-the-way earlier, there are still a number of things that people should keep in mind that happen a lot regardless of the type and style of dating they choose.
1. Managing obligations: If you find yourself absolutely feeling that you have to be somewhere or do something that you do not want to do in a relationship, and even though it has been communicated it is not going away, it may be a sign to take another look at the relationship. For example, if your partner spends most of their time at the bar and your needs are not being met because of it… so you decide to go to the bar often as well even though it makes you unhappy, it might be time to reevaluate the relationship.
2. Spending money that you don’t have: If you find that the lavish lifestyle the person you’re dating is not something that you can maintain, talk with them about it. If it is not possible to come up with a compromise, it may be time to take another look at the relationship and see if you and them can thrive long-term. This can also apply to short-term dating, so when going on dates with a person you met because of phone dating, it is something you may need to pay attention to.
3. Judgment because of beliefs: if you constantly feel that you are being judged because of your religious or political beliefs, or lack thereof, it may not be something that will go away. As always, make sure to communicate with the person you are dating to express your needs and concerns when it comes to the beliefs that you care about.
While most things can be work out with some good communication between two people, sometimes it just does not work out the way that we would like. Each person is unique and how they express themselves, and what is really important is that we do it with honesty and understanding. These are just a few of the things that can help keep relationships healthy over the long term and when they are just starting out when you chat now.
