Red Butte Garden, located on 100 acres in the foothills on the eastern edge of the University of Utah campus, is Utah’s largest botanical garden.
It is community-funded and renowned for its numerous plant collections, display gardens, 524,000 springtime blooming bulbs, including a vast collection of daffodils; world-class outdoor concert series, beautiful private event spaces, and award-winning horticulture-based educational programs.
The Orangerie
At Red Butte Garden, many couples choose the Orangerie as a place to host their reception. This lush indoor space boasts magical garden vibes and exotic flowering plants.
The Orangerie is an indoor venue that’s perfect for weddings all year round. The exotic flowers and citrus trees create a sense of alfresco without weather concerns!
Guests enter the Orangerie from the Fragrance Garden via meandering sandstone pathways. They’re then greeted by a beautiful room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass ceiling overhead.
Inside, the Orangerie features a variety of paintings from the Impressionist era. The collection includes Claude Monet’s famous Water Lilies murals, plus paintings by Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, and Pablo Picasso.
The Orangerie is one of the most iconic museums in Paris, and it’s a great place to visit when in the area. Unlike the Louvre and Orsay Museums, it’s less busy and noisy, giving visitors a more relaxed experience. You can also enjoy a drink and a bite to eat here during your time in the city!
The Rose Garden
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Red Butte Garden is one of the largest botanical gardens in the Intermountain West and is the state arboretum. This 100-acre garden is renowned for its plant collections, themed gardens and over 450,000 springtime blooming bulbs.

The Rose House
A beautiful modern building in the heart of the Rose Garden, the Rose House is the perfect spot for a small ceremony or private party. Designed by Mehrdad Samie, who is also an avid music lover and concert goer, it serves as the ‘green room’ for performers at the Red Butte Amphitheatre, as well as for weddings, meetings, and other events in the Rose Garden.
This spacious contemporary venue features floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides with telescoping doors that open to an enclosed patio area, making it both practical and grand. It also includes food preparation areas, restrooms, dressing rooms, and easy access for vendors.
Gary and Tina had a lovely Red Butte garden wedding, incorporating their love for each other into the ceremony. Instead of simply exchanging rings, they put a blessing onto their rings! They also included a meditation during the ceremony, which they said was “more than pi” because their relationship is so much more than numbers.
