When it comes to finding the best Ben and Jerry’s, you’ll have plenty of options. But there are a few things to keep in mind.
Americone Dream
Americone Dream is a vanilla Ice Cream with caramel swirls and fudge covered waffle cone pieces by Ben and Jerry’s. The flavor was first unveiled in 2007, and is now available in bulk in the company’s franchised Scoop shops.
AmeriCone Dream is made with Fairtrade Certified cocoa and vanilla, and is sourced from non-GMO, cage-free egg and milk producers. It also contains sugar, baking soda, carrageenan, and natural flavor. Using Fairtrade ingredients helps farmers in developing countries. This delicious, sweet ice cream is available in pints, quarts, and mini cups.
Americone Dream is also available in a vegan version. In addition to a caramel swirl, the non-dairy ice cream is made with almond milk, Fairtrade Certified cocoa and vanilla, and sugar.
Gimmie S’more
Ben & Jerry’s has introduced a new ice cream flavor: Gimme S’more! It’s made up of two toasted marshmallow-flavored ice creams, chocolate cookie swirls, and fudge flakes. This flavor is part of the Limited Batch series and will be available in retail stores and Scoops Shops in mid-March. However, there’s more to this ice cream than meets the eye.
Ben & Jerry’s also introduced a new Kitchen Sink Kit. If you love outdoor fire pit snacks, this is a great way to have all of your favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavors on hand. All of the components are packaged together in a plastic container and can be stored in a freezer.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie
There is a lot of hype around the new Chocolate Fudge Brownie from Ben and Jerry. The scoop isn’t a million miles away from the original, but it still lives up to the promise.
The ice cream itself has the right balance of chocolate and brownie. The vanilla ice cream is a nice complement. The brownies themselves are a well-balanced mix of soft, fudgy and the right amount of sweetness.
There is one small caveat: the ice cream itself isn’t a particularly good match for almond milk. This doesn’t mean you won’t like it, though, just that you’ll probably find the taste a bit more subtle. And the chocolate isn’t quite as rich and scrumptious as the original.
Chocolate Shake It Truffles
The Best Ben and Jerry Chocolate Shake It Truffles is an ice cream concoction that blends a chocolate malt milkshake with cookie covered fudge. This pint is a good one and deserves a spot on your tasting menu. The fudge pieces are salted to enhance the overall experience. Aside from the usual suspects, the b&j ice cream company also offers a dairy-free variant.
Not only is it tasty, but it is a surprisingly good ice cream. The fudge bits are rich and crunchy. They provide the perfect balance of textures to the frothy chocolate malt base. I can’t think of a better way to spend a rainy day than enjoying a scoop of this tasty treat.
Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch
If you’re an ice cream connoisseur, you’ve probably seen the Ben and Jerry Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch. Sadly, if you’re one of the many fans of this tasty treat, you may have to wait for your fix. For starters, B&J has pulled the flavor from shelves in favor of a new, improved version. The new Heath Lite has all the perks of its predecessor, plus some, such as a higher concentration of caffeine, and a slightly lower fat content. While the calorie count remains the same, the taste is improved and the texture is smoother. It’s also available in vanilla, chocolate and cherry varieties. In short, it’s a better buy than it was a few months ago.
Chubby Hubby
Chubby Hubby is one of the most famous flavors from Ben & Jerry’s. It is a smooth vanilla ice cream with chunks of peanut butter, fudge, and pretzels. The flavor is one of the oldest original flavors from Ben & Jerry’s.
Chubby Hubby was first made as a prank. Two pranksters from York, PA convinced a co-worker at Ben & Jerry’s that a new flavor called Chubby Hubby was available. They had no idea the ice cream would be a hit. However, the co-worker was thrilled to receive it. And it was a huge hit.
The flavor’s success led to the creation of spin-off flavors, bars, and cookies. In addition, the name of the ice cream became the basis for a popular office joke.
