Britt Music & Arts Festival
The Britt Music & Arts Festival is the Pacific Northwest’s premier outdoor summer performing arts festival. Founded in 1963, it draws tens of thousands of music lovers each year to enjoy world-class performances and spectacular scenery.
Located in the historic 1850s gold rush town of Jacksonville, Oregon, Britt Fest presents dozens of summer concerts, featuring world-class artists in orchestral music, jazz, blues, folk, bluegrass, country and world music. The venue features a naturally formed amphitheater set among majestic ponderosa pines and native madrones on the hillside estate of 19th century photographer Peter Britt.
The Britt Music & Arts Festival is a non-profit organization that produces and promotes the arts in Southern Oregon through a wide range of popular shows, 6-7 orchestra performances, and dozens of admission-free education events. The Festival’s 13 full-time staff members, 65 volunteers, and 80-90 members of the Britt Board of Directors work to bring this unique festival to life every summer.
Britt Classical Festival
The Britt Classical Festival is a popular summer music event held in the picturesque town of Jacksonville, Oregon. It is located a short drive from the cities of Medford and Ashland and close to Crater Lake National Park.
Originally founded in 1963 by Portland conductor John Trudeau and his friend Sam McKinney, the Britt Classical Festival has been a premier summer music event for more than 50 years. The Britt is known for its beautiful hillside setting and acoustics and has hosted numerous world-class musicians.
The 2023 season will feature an array of talented soloists and a full range of classical and contemporary orchestral works. Under the inspirational leadership of Music Director Teddy Abrams, the Britt will also present a program of music from film and television.
Britt Kids Koncerts
The Britt Kids Koncerts returned this season after two years of online video programs. Each of the ten concerts was fun for the entire family and included songs, dances, stories, music, and other activities that kids can enjoy.
This innovative concert series is just one of many family-friendly events offered throughout the summer at Britt Festivals Gardens and Amphitheater in Jacksonville, Oregon. The Britt Music & Arts Festival and its Education & Engagement programs provide free performances to kids and adults of all ages, from pre-school to graduate level.
The Britt Festival Orchestra (BFO) is a renowned classical music institution that performs under the stars each summer at the scenic and natural outdoor amphitheater called the Britt Pavilion. The BFO brings a wide range of world-class musicians to Jacksonville each summer and is sure to delight everyone who attends.
Britt Presents
Britt Music & Arts Festival is the Pacific Northwest’s premier outdooor music venue. Located in southern Oregon, Britt is just a day’s drive from Portland and Seattle and 15 miles from Ashland.
Since its inception in 1963, Britt has cultivated a loyal following with its classical and rock concerts. This year, Britt will be kicking off its 60th anniversary season with a lineup that includes ZZ Top, jazzy pop singer-songwriter Norah Jones, electric blues band Blues Traveler, Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show, Queen tribute band One Night of Queen, annual fan favorite Michael Franti & Spearhead, and alt-rock group Mt. Joy, plus the previously announced Britt “Best of Britt” fundraiser with 60’s pop legends.
The first concert of the season will take place July 27th and will feature a return visit by ZZ Top. A second performance is scheduled for August 7th with the world premiere of Bull Frogs Croon, a song cycle composed by Aoife O’Donovan and Jeremy Kittel.
